About this episode
On a quiet evening at the edge of the meadow, Ben and Sophie spot something twinkling in the grass: a small star glowing in every color of the rainbow. When they pick it up carefully, a shimmering trail of color unrolls across the hills.
With Bunny and Puppy at their side, the friends decide to follow it — and the very first Rainbow Trail adventure begins. A calm, wonder-filled story about noticing the little things and being brave enough to explore.

The Shining Rainbow Star
For grown-ups to read aloud — about 4 minutes. Try pausing at each section to ask, “What do you think happens next?”
The sun was sinking low and soft over the meadow, painting the sky pink and gold. Ben and Sophie were walking home with Bunny hopping at their heels and Puppy trotting ahead, his little red collar jingling.
“Look!” whispered Sophie. She pointed at the long grass. Something was twinkling there. Twinkle… twinkle… twinkle.
A Star in the Grass
Ben knelt down and gently parted the grass. There, glowing softly, was a tiny star. It shimmered red, then orange, then yellow, then green, then blue, then purple — every color of the rainbow.
“It’s so beautiful,” said Ben. “Should we pick it up?”
“Let’s be very gentle,” said Sophie. Ben cupped his hands, and the little star floated right into them, warm like a cup of cocoa.
The Trail Appears
Then something wonderful happened. A ribbon of rainbow light rolled out from the star, across the meadow, over the hill, and into the whispering trees.
Puppy wagged his tail so fast it was almost a blur. Bunny straightened her blue bow and gave a happy little hop.
“It’s a trail,” said Sophie. “A Rainbow Trail! I wonder where it goes.”
Brave Together
Ben felt a tiny wobble in his tummy. The trees looked very tall. But then Sophie took his hand, and Puppy leaned against his leg, and Bunny gave his shoe a friendly nudge.
“We can find out together,” said Ben, smiling.
And so, step by step, the four friends followed the glowing trail — wondering who they might meet, and who they might help, on the very first Rainbow Trail adventure.
